In November 2024, Seiko Watch is excited to unveil a limited edition timepiece in collaboration with the renowned Japanese brand Porter Classic. With only 500 pieces available, the SART005 promises to be a coveted addition for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Inspired by the Iconic Laurel, the design of the SART005 draws inspiration from the legendary Laurel, a significant milestone in Japanese horology. Released in 1913, the Laurel was the first domestically produced wristwatch, marking Seiko's pioneering spirit during the early Taisho era (1912-1926). The SART005 beautifully integrates features of the Laurel, capturing its simple yet distinctive aesthetic.
One of the standout elements of this watch is its black enamel dial, crafted by the skilled hands of artisan Mitsuru Yokozawa. This deep, chic black finish not only enhances the watch's presence but also pays tribute to the elegance of pocket watches. The dial features a 24-hour subdial at the 6 o’clock position, reflecting the original design of the Laurel while maintaining modern functionality. Each Arabic numeral is meticulously reproduced in its original font, honoring the craftsmanship of the past.
