"Seiko 5 Sports" was established in 1968 and will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2023. This upcoming release marks the third limited edition model created in collaboration with the world-renowned skateboarder, Yuto Horigome.

Yuto Horigome, born on January 7, 1999, is a Japanese professional skateboarder. He made history by winning the gold medal in the inaugural Olympic men's street event at the 2020 Summer Olympics, becoming the first skateboarder ever to achieve this feat. Horigome, born and raised in Tokyo, developed his skating skills at the Amazing Square Murasaki Skatepark from a young age, guided by his father, a former Vert skateboarder. At the age of 14, Horigome started traveling to the United States for skating trips and eventually moved to Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides. He has participated in various American skateboarding pro tours, such as the Tampa Am and Dew Tour, and has also been involved in filming skateboarding parts.

The SBSC015 model features the SKX GMT design with a black color-coated case and bracelet, personally chosen by Yuto Horigome. The bezel display board showcases a striking combination of navy and purple, designed to exhibit different expressions depending on the angle of illumination.

Part of the SKX Sports Style GMT Series, this Seiko 5 Sports watch incorporates a GMT function, offering both durability and style for those on the go. The automatic movement, powered by a 24-jewel mechanism beating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, provides a power reserve of approximately 41 hours and allows for manual winding. The case and dial design draw inspiration from Seiko's beloved SKX series, a favorite among watch enthusiasts. The five-row bracelet, a new design influenced by the original SKX series, features polished middle rows that create a contrast with the solid feel of the surrounding rows. The GMT hands are presented in bright red for the black and blue dial versions and in black for the orange version, ensuring clear visibility in low light conditions with the Lumibrite coating. Alongside the GMT function, the watches also include a two-colored rotating bezel to easily distinguish between day and night hours. Seiko's Hardlex glass is used for the bezel's ring indicator, ensuring the renowned durability of the Seiko 5 Sports collection.

The coloring of the display board is inspired by the sunset view observed from the skateboard park in downtown Tokyo, where Yuto Horigome dedicated countless hours to practice. The metallic tone is achieved through vapor deposition treatment on the Hardlex glass.

The back cover of the watch proudly displays the words "LIMITED EDITION," the serial number, and Horigome's signature, serving as proof of its exclusivity. Horigome's signature is also featured on the gift box.
