The "Hatsune Miku x Seiko Happy 16th Birthday Watch" was announced by Imperial Enterprise on July 26th, and pre-orders are now available. The watch is limited to 3,900 pieces, with official shipping scheduled for end-December.
Hatsune Miku, also known as Miku Hatsune, is a Vocaloid software voicebank developed by Crypton Future Media. She has become a popular anime character and virtual idol, performing at live virtual concerts as an animated projection. To commemorate her 16th anniversary, Seiko has designed a unique watch that showcases her iconic features.
The dial of the watch features a gradation color with "Miku Green" light inserted into the dark navy background, reminiscent of a starry night sky. The index at the 1 o'clock position displays the number "01" while the stopwatch second hand is inspired by Hatsune Miku's necktie. The watch also features in-dials at 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock with designs that celebrate Hatsune Miku and her 16th anniversary.
The case and strap material of the watch are made of stainless steel, with a case size of 47 x 39.8 x 12.8 mm. The windshield is curved hardlex, and the watch boasts a waterproof performance of 10 atm. The movement is quartz, with an average monthly difference within ±15 seconds.
