This is a Special Limited edition to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Shinkansen 500 series in service, Seiko collaborates with the West Japan Railway Company (JR-West).
A gradient blue color is adopted on the dial to showcase the blue main shade that was used on the exterior of the Shinkansen. The design on the dial is a bird silhouette of the signature 'long beak' of the unique train design. A pair of the train's headlights were showcased at the two sub-dials at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions.
The case back is engraved with the side view of the head train and the words "25th Anniversary JR 500 West Japan", an illustration of the train and a limited edition number.
The watch is presented in a special commemorative box. The watch is made in Japan which is a guarantee of quality. They are limited to 5,000 pieces each and only available in Japan,
