The Grand Seiko SLGC001 Tentagraph is a Hi-Beat chronograph that comes with a 43.2mm high-intensity titanium case that is 15.3mm thick. The watch is water-resistant down to 100 meters and features a three-link bracelet with a three-fold clasp that is also crafted from top-shelf scratch-resistant, zaratsu-polished titanium.

One of the most impressive features of the SLGC001 Tentagraph is its movement - the new Caliber 9SC5. This movement is based on the high-end horologist’s existing Caliber 9SA5 motor and has been treated to two barrels and a Dual Impulse Escapment. These features enable the watch to deliver its three-day power reserve even while using its chronograph function - a reportedly best-in-class, industry-leading figure.

The dial of the Evolution 9 Collection Tentagraph is also noteworthy. It sports a date window between 4 and 5, grooved indexes, and recessed subdials at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock. The dial also features a lightly-textured motif known as the “Mt. Iwate pattern,” a design that’s inspired by the night’s sky above the nearly 7000′-tall Volcano of the same name that’s visible from Grand Seiko’s recently-opened Studio Shizukuishi manufacturing facility.
