Casio celebrates the 40th anniversary of its shock-resistant watch, G-SHOCK, this year (2023). On November 28th, the GCW-B5000UN series will be released as a special commemorative square model, paying homage to the first model launched in 1983. The lineup includes two striking models: the black GCWB5000UN-1 and the purple GCWB5000UN-6.

The bezel and band are crafted from forged carbon, a material that allows for complex shaping, mostly used in aircraft fuselages. The folding arm of the clasp is made of multilayer carbon, ensuring high longitudinal bending strength. The monocoque case is constructed with carbon fiber-reinforced resin. Each material is carefully selected and utilized to harness the lightweight and rigid properties of carbon, resulting in a timepiece that is both strong and comfortable to wear. This is the first carbon fiber-reinforced resin monocoque case in the 5000 line.
